Katerina Cosgrove has co-owned bookshop-cafes (Sappho Books, Gertrude & Alice) and taught at the University of Technology (UTS), where she was awarded her Doctorate in Creative Arts.
She is the author of two novels, The Glass Heart (HarperCollins, Australia, 2000) and Bone Ash Sky (Hardie Grant, Australia, UK, 2013). Both novels have been translated into Greek and Bone Ash Sky is soon to be published in other European territories. An earlier version of Bone Ash Sky was shortlisted for the ‘Writing Australia’ Unpublished Manuscript Award. Katerina’s novella, Intimate Distance, was one of the winners of the Griffith Review/CAL Prize in 2012 and published by Text. She has appeared on the ABC and BBC TV’s ‘Meet the Author’ program.
Katerina is currently launching a blog on death and dying, LifeLifeTwice, working on a speculative novel, judging the Waverley Library/NIB Literary Award and collaborating with visual artists and composers for Eramboo Artist Environment’s ‘On Islands’ exhibition.
